The Bates Hotel. A very strange night indeed.

What a very strange night. Richard was trusted with the hotel booking and failed to get us in the Dumfries Premier Inn with the other lads. He booked us in the Bates Hotel otherwise known as the Park Hotel in Dumfries. OMG what a dump, definitely the worst place I have ever stayed. There was mold growing on the walls in Room 9 where we were supposed to stay for the night. After taking a walk down to have dinner with the other guys in the Premier Inn we decided there was no way that we would stay in the hotel so went to tell the land Lord "Peter"

That we did not want to stay there. "Don't blame you lads he said, I wouldn't want to either! How about I put you up in my flat in the center of Dumfries for the night and pay for a Taxi for you back in the morning. "

We ended up in a huge flat alongside River Nith with a very strange bar next door (the Sands Snooker Bar) that had TV's on every piece of wall space and a Slushie machine in the Bar. Under the same roof must have been 20+ pool tables as well. Very strange
